TasDIS Terms and Conditions of Use

The following terms and conditions of use apply to the use of the TasDIS system.


 

Definitions
and
Interpretation

     

"we", ”Department” and "us" means the Tasmanian Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS).
"you" means the legal entity or entities using this site.
"TasDIS Online System" and “TasDIS” means the Online Client and Services Data System to which you have access pursuant to this agreement.
"this site" means equipment, programs and services provided to allow you access to the TasDIS Online System.
"service provider" means a Tasmanian Government Department or other non-government body contributing and/or providing support for this site.
"data" means all information contained within the TasDIS Online System.
"normal business hours" means 8.30am to 5.06 pm, Monday to Friday.

 

The following Terms and Conditions of Use apply to access to and use of the TasDIS Online System:


Terms of agreement

Your access to TasDIS is granted upon your acceptance and compliance with these Terms and Conditions of Use which include the Department’s:

  • Copyright; and
  • Privacy and Data Principles.


This agreement commences upon issue of a username and password for your authorised access to the TasDIS Online System and supersedes all prior representations, agreements, statements and understandings, whether verbal or in writing on access and use of the TasDIS Online system. Your use of, and/or access to, TasDIS constitutes your agreement to the Terms and Conditions of Use.


The Department reserves the right to change or discontinue all or any aspects of these Terms and Conditions of Use at any time, including content, hours of availability, equipment required for access, and these Terms and Conditions of Use.


You further agree that the Department is not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental or consequential loss or damage that may occur through the use of this site, and you indemnify the Department against all claims for loss or damage and any other liability whatsoever arising out of your use of this site.


Changes to the Terms and Conditions of Use

The Department may change these Terms and Conditions of Use at any time. If this occurs, the Department will notify you on this site.


Minimum System Requirements

This site uses Internet technology and a minimum information technology environment consisting of Windows XP/2000/Vista, Internet Explorer 7.0+ and Broadband (256kb/s) is recommended for access to the online system. It is your responsibility to meet the site's system requirements. These requirements may vary from time to time. Once you access TasDIS, your transaction across the Internet is protected by high-strength 128 bit SSL encryption. If you are using an older web browser, an upgrade to versions supporting 128 bit SSL encryption is strongly recommended.


Transmission Speed

The Department has no control over the speed of transmission of data where the Internet is used for access.


Interruption to Service

The Department will employ all reasonable efforts to provide ongoing access to this site but does not guarantee that your access will be uninterrupted. There may be interruptions to services to facilitate urgent reasonable maintenance by the Department.


The Department will not be liable to you or third parties for interruptions to the service beyond our control including but not limited to:

  • Issues with your telecommunications services;
  • Issues with your Internet Service Provider; or
  • Issues with your hardware or software.

The Department will not be liable to you or third parties if interruptions to this service cause delays in the delivery of services.


Username and Password Security

You are responsible for the use of your confidential username and password and for maintaining their security and you are responsible for any use whatsoever of your username and password whether authorised or not.


This TasDIS Online system allows you three attempts to logon with your username and password and you will be temporarily denied access to the site on your third failed logon attempt.


General Internet Security

DHHS recommends that all computers used to access TasDIS Online System will need an internet security package installed which will protect you from viruses and keep your online identity safe. The package from a reputable retailer should include:

  • Anti-virus – stops viruses from damaging your computer
  • Anti-spyware – protects your computer from viruses that try to monitor what you’re doing online
  • Firewall – monitors information going in and out of your computer to stop unauthorised access

It’s important to make sure the internet security package is set to automatically download the daily antivirus updates so you’re protected against the latest threats.


It is not the responsibility of the Department to supply you with this software.


Intellectual Property and Copyright

Copyright in this site (including system information, content and design) is owned by the by the Crown in Right of Tasmania represented by the Department of Health and Human Services.


Privacy and Data Principles

Data from the system is restricted for use to the ordinary course of your business in accordance with the AIHW CSTDA NMDS Privacy and Data Principles.


Cancellation or Suspension of Access

The Department can cancel or suspend your access to this site at any time. The agreement set out in these terms and conditions may be terminated by the Department at any time without notice. All disclaimers by the Department will continue after termination.
